Adam received his passion for photography from his grandmother passing on her National Geographic magazine every month since before he could remember. Time spent captivated by the stories and photos fostered an obsession with the natural world and photography, even before he even had his first camera. His first captures were with an iPod touch in middle school and quickly filled up his 16 gigs of storage with photos and editing apps. His obsession earned him the nickname "Ansel Adams" from his Uncle Sammy which led him to his attic, enthralled in a dusty, forgotten box, filled with antique film cameras.

Photography class in high school gave him an excuse to dust off the film cameras and a Nikon digital camera. Armed with knowledge of the outdoors and years of experience from adventuring as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, Adam set out with his camera to capture the water, woods, and wildlife of the Chesapeake Bay he had grown to know and love. His constant drive to adventure where few dared influenced his photos by allowing him to view the world in a completely new way. With guidance from his art teacher, Casey Sanchez, along with countless YouTube videos, his technical skills and camera knowledge received recognition in the school's end of year Portfolio Art Show. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

At the end of Adam's high school senior year, a guess speaker came in to talk to the art classes about her inspiring journey as a photographer and cinematographer. Reconnecting with his old baby sitter, now artist, Lizzie Fowler revealed the possibility of a creative storytelling career. Now a student of James Madison University, Adam was accepted into the School of Media Arts and Design and quickly surrounded himself with a crew of equally adventurous and creative students. As new member of the Video Adventure Club, he found himself surrounded by mountains and many talented filmmakers and photographers, exploring the countless waterfalls and peaks of Appalachia. With new friends and sore calves and Adam counted the days until he could smell the falling tide.

As Adam started on the trailhead of his creative career, he invested in his own Sony camera with a professional waterproof housing, for an upcoming trip to Honolulu, Hawaii with his father. Unsupervised and sunburnt, he spent every moment he could photographing the water and all of the wildlife the Waikiki coast had to offer. One day while photographing the reef just below the waves, a local surfer asked him about his techniques. Through conversation, the surfer enlightened Adam he had unknowingly damaged some habitats and stressed out the local sea life. Realizing that an apology to the local server was meaningless, he had set in his heart from there on out, all of the photos that he took would never negatively impact the subjects and locations again.

Photography is Adam's true gift and he enjoys giving that gift to help conserve and protect the environment that we all know and love. His photographs have been recognized by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation among other conservation minded organizations. Adam's love and respect for the environment extends beyond the camera, making a promise to clean up one pound of trash from his local waterways for every photo print he sells. Making this promise allows Adam to share the beauty of nature while leaving it better than he found it.

Entering his third year of college, Adam continues on his quest for a cleaner tide and more creative future in Harrisonburg, Virginia near the furthest northwest headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. As president of the Video Adventure Club for the 24-25 school year, Adam is excited to be leading a group enthusiastic and talented young men and women who share his passion for cameras and conservation.  Throughout the next academic year, Adam and the club executives anticipate sharing their passion for the environment through their creative storytelling while going on amazing adventures and developing bonds that will last lifetime.

Stay tuned, Adam's story is only just beginning!
